Instead of having to answer this question multiple times. Here are the exact steps to take and even a video to help you create a customized gift with photos.

Go to Simple Zazzle (www.simplezazzle.com)
Click on “Create or customize your own” or “Start from scratch”
Follow the simple steps and add your pictures, and that’s it!

To get your pictures from your website, simply point your mouse on the picture, click the right button on your mouse and select “Save Picture/Image As..”

On Tuesday, November 18, 2008 Cheryl Burke from the hit show “Dancing With The Stars,” was at Dance For 2 dance studio in San Diego to film her upcoming infomercial Disco Abs. It was great fun having her here. The energy was on high and the students participating in the class all said they had a great time. Make sure to keep your eye out as you might see someone you know from the dance community here in San Diego dancing away when the show is aired on TV.

Dance For 2 Grand Opening a HUGE Success

Dance For 2 held it’s Grand Opening of the NEW studio Saturday, October 11, 2008 and it was an overwhelming success. With every one of their 110 seats taken consistently and over 300 parking spaces full, every dancer in San Diego seemed to be there. Even with over 300 people in attendance consistently throughout the night, it still always seemed comfortable. The energy was on a constant high and once people came in they never seemed to want to leave. They have great lighting that changes with the style of the music being played and the feel of the dance. The music system is one of the best in any San Diego studio. With music in every one of the three ballrooms you could pick and choose which room to dance in. The main room titled, “The Dansan Diego Ballroom” played all styles, the upstairs known as the “Gallery,” focused on Argentine Tango, and the small downstairs floor called the “Adaline Ballroom,” was the place to dance everything Swing. Dance For 2 is sure to become the place to learn to dance in San Diego and certainly the place to go and practice all of the many different styles of partner dancing. We can’t wait to see how much more they set the bar for the dance community of San Diego and Southern California.

“Just Dance,” Showcase

We have set the date for the next showcase “Just Dance,” at Dance For 2. Plan ahead and leave the night of Saturday, January 31, 2008 available to come and see why every showcase at Dance For 2 is a sold out event. If you would like to create and perform a routine with a teacher now is the time to let them know it. This way you and they have time to put together some great choreography and pick a great song to dance it to. We know this first show at our new location is going to be spectacular. We’ ll look forward to seeing you there.

It took a while but, here are a three more of the performances that were danced at our recent “Movie Magic and More” showcase.

This first performance is danced by student Marge and owner Shawn. They thought it would be fun to visit a classic routine originally danced by the GREAT Fred Astaire and Judy Garland in the movie “Easter Parade.” Sit back and enjoy, “We’re a Couple of Swells” with a few new changes added to the original choreography.

This next performance is by students Gina and Joe. This dance shows that with lots of practice and lots of polyester, you too can Hustle. Dancing to “Saturday Night Fever” from the movie of the same name they show how much fun the Hustle can be.

We thought you would also enjoy this very pretty Bolero danced by student Gina and Owner Shawn. Dancing to “Take My Breath Away,” from the movie Top Gun, they show us why any and everyone might want to share a Bolero dance together.

Dance For 2’s Movie Magic and More showcase, HUGE success

Recently, we had our summer showcase at Dance For 2 with unique performances, music, and dancing. It was a great success! The Movie Magic and More theme made for a very exciting evening. Friends, students, and family arrived being treated like stars at a movie premiere by getting to walk on our red carpet. There were many different styles of dance performed and we will be posting videos of some of the performances throughout the next few weeks. One of the crowd favorites posted below, was danced by Katie and owner Shawn Torgerson. Telling the story of a mannequin coming to life through dance was a reminder to all watching that dance is a way of coming to life within ourselves. As dancers we all share that wonderful experience of being truly alive when we dance.

Our next showcase will be on January 31, 2009. Put it on your calendars now so, that you don’t miss the fun.

Dance and Body Isolations… Cont.

In a strange turn of events the dancer that I was sooooo impressed with in the show “So You Think You Can Dance,” bowed out graciously due to lack of knowledge in other styles of dance. While this was a shock to the judges on the show it is truly an example of how important it is to be versed in more than just one style of dance. You may love to Salsa, Tango, or do one of many other styles but, knowing a little Swing or Ballroom might make your dancing that much better both in technique and in body control. Besides it’s always more fun to be able to dance anywhere at anytime whatever, may be playing from the speakers. Here is the final solo that was danced by this amazing young dancer.

Once again he demonstrates great body control and isolations.

Many times I try and express how important it is to have control of different and various body movements, otherwise known as body isolations. Recently on “So You Think You Can Dance,” a young dancer gave a perfect example of this and I thought you might enjoy seeing this amazing talent and control.
